Whereas community college funding is based on one-time enrollment census at the end of the fourth week of the semester, and
Whereas Title 5 permits a community college district to set a drop date (withdrawal with grade W) between the 4th and 14th week of the semester, and
Whereas a survey conducted by Los Angeles Valley College of delegates at the 1992 Fall Session shows a median drop date preference of the 9th week,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to local senates that they study their existing drop date policy, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to local senates that they consider the Los Angeles Valley College 1992 Fall Session survey showing a median drop date preference as the end of the 8th week.
